We are bringing in the best speakers to educate our attendees on a wide variety of topics surrounding hydrogen welding and how to support the infrastructure needed to bring hydrogen to the world. We will also have industry vendors there to showcase the latest and greatest products, services, and upcoming technology.

SPEAKER: GRACE JIANG, Co-Founder and President of Atlantic Weld Tech
A novel dynamic GTAW narrow groove automation welding solution for hydrogen pipeline construction and a case study for a submarine hydrogen pipeline welding
Grace is the co-founder and President of Atlantic Weld Tech (AWT)
She has over 18 years of experience in welding business in North American market, as well as more than 10 years of experience in pipeline welding and technology management.
Grace holds a bachelor’s degree in science and a master’s degree in international business management.

SPEAKER: RICHARD COLWELL, Global Chief Engineer for Materials Engineering Technology, Bechtel
Richard has a graduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University, and postgraduate degree in metallurgical engineering from Wayne State University. Richard has more than 40 years of experience in design, operation, and maintenance of electric utility, industrial gas, chemical, and petroleum refinery plants. Richards experience base has a major emphasis in failure analysis, materials characterization, structure-property relationships of metals and alloys, high-temperature metallurgy, fracture mechanics, welding, corrosion engineering, and equipment reliability. Richard is presently the Global Chief Engineer for Materials Engineering Technology at Bechtel.

Topic: Welding requirements for hydrogen pipelines
SPEAKER: KEN LEE, DNV
Ken Lee is Principal Engineer at DNV with over 30 years of industry and government experience in pipeline safety and welding. Mr. Lee was previously Director of Engineering and Research at the USDOT Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), Office of Pipeline Safety, and pipeline welding engineer at Lincoln Electric. Mr. Lee is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Virginia, with a M.S. in Welding Engineering from The Ohio State University and a B.S. in Engineering Mechanics from the Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Lee is active in PRCI and standards committees, including API 1104 and AWS Welding Handbook committees, and has authored over 20 papers.

Topic: Repurposing Natural Gas Lines for Hydrogen
Speaker: Damodaran Raghu; Kaleidoscope Energy LLC
Raghu received his BS in Metallurgical Engineering and MS in Corrosion Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer – registered by the Engineering Council-UK.
Raghu worked for 35 years for the Royal Dutch Shell Group, Petroleos de Venezuela (PdVSA) and Deloro Stellite in engineering, research, and management roles with assignments in US, Netherlands Antilles, Argentina, Netherlands, and India. Prior to his retirement from Shell, Mr. Raghu was the global General Manager for Materials, Integrity and Construction Research & Innovation and the Global Technical Authority for Materials Corrosion and Integrity (a global technical assurance role).
Raghu and Kaleidoscope Energy provide specialized engineering consulting and services to the energy transition industry sector. Our focus is to maximize the license to operate (safety and reliability in design and operation), enable techno-economic optimization and meet and exceed our partner’s ESG obligations.

Topic: Weldability Tests, what is it and when should they be done?
Speaker: Paisley Cameron; Consultant
Ms. Cameron has just under a decade of welding and metallurgical engineering experience in the petroleum industry including design, new construction, maintenance, and turnarounds. She has worked for Canadian Oil & Gas owner users in central engineering roles and critical assignments. She has also worked as a consultant supporting both domestic and international (Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific) owner users, fabrication shops, and mechanical contractors for any welding and/or metallurgical needs. Areas of expertise include WPS and quality program optimization, turn around planning as well as support for effective and efficient execution of unplanned outage support, fire damage assessments, and failure analysis.
Paisley received her B.A. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with Materials Option from the University of Windsor in 2016 and holds her P. Eng in Alberta. She is a member of ASME, a member at large on the American Welding Society (AWS) Alberta Chapter, an active member of the AWS Houston section, the co-champion of Materials Technology Institute (MTI) Project 376: The Characterization of Aged 304 Stainless Steel, sits on the CSA B51 Pressure Equipment Integrity Management Project Charter Member, IPEIA Membership & Conference Planning Committee and the Vice Chair of API 577.

Speaker: Morgan Gallagher, PhD, ExxonMobil Upstream Integrated Solutions
Morgan Gallagher received his Ph.D. in Welding Engineering at Ohio State University in 2007.
He currently works at ExxonMobil as a Materials Engineer with a focus on welding and metallurgy.
